Lauren is a civil/structural engineer by education from Berkeley/MIT and mechanical engineer and commissioning agent by practice. As a mechanical engineer and LEED facilitator, she worked as the liason between engineers and architects/owners, bridging the gap between the overly-technical and the information necessary to create a green building project. As an avid traveler, she continually experiences many different cultures and building strategies, often bringing new ideas to the table from green technologies found in other countries. She has experience in many different project-types from office space to retail to universities. However, as a sports fanatic, she her dream is to help design a stadium.

Marian Thomas

Sustainability Consultant
LEED BD+C

Email / LinkedIn

Marian was first introduced to the concept of sustainable development while sitting in traffic for two hours on the 405 in Los Angeles 7 years ago. Rocked by the notion that our built environment is a result of human decision making and that decision making can mean the difference between a leisurely walk to work, sitting on a clogged freeway overpass, or a healthy building vs a toxic workplace, Marian decided to pursue a career in sustainable design and urban planning. Her professional experience includes urban planning and design work in the US, Canada, Mexico and the Philippines, and architectural drafting work in Los Angeles. She has experience working in all phases of commercial, residential, and mixed-use development from the building scale to the neighborhood scale. She holds a Masters Degree in Urban Planning with a specialization in Development and Land Use from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC.

Project Experience:
Google, HP, Facebook, VISA, Motorola Mobility, Gerding Edlen Development, BRE Properties, and Sutter Health
